Steve Schadt: How long do they last and will I ever need them redone? DR. SHELDON SEIDMAN: Let me kind of explain what this whole process entails. You’re probably looking at maybe five or six weeks total. Very quick, but we need all-day appointments, like 5 or 6-hour appointment and a 5 or 6-hour appointment. We’re going to take some records and pictures and x-rays just to know where we’re starting from. We’re going to create a roadmap of where we want to go outside of the office from those records. We’re going to create wax models of your teeth to make sure that everything meshes correctly and everything looks really nice. And then what we’re going to do is shape your teeth, transfer that shape into your mouth so you can actually test drive how it feels and how it looks. And it will be plastic temporaries. And all those temporaries will be attached to each other just as temporaries. The finished porcelain will all be separate, individual teeth just like your own. We’re just going to be replacing some enamel with some porcelain. So you not only are going to be able to floss, you’re going to be encouraged to floss. And so you’re going to have to take good care of them because it’s something that is added to your teeth, and you want to keep it really clean.
