Cosmetic dentistry patient Steve visits the Chicago practice of Dr. Sheldon Seidman to find out how he could improve his smile. In this clip, Steve explains why he is unhappy with the appearance of his teeth.
DR. SHELDON SEIDMAN: Hi, Steve. I’m Sheldon Seidman.
STEVE SCHADT: How’s it going, Dr. Seidman?
DR. SHELDON SEIDMAN: Good. Good. They tell me that you had some concerns about some esthetics and grinding and things like that?
STEVE SCHADT: Yep, that’s true. I’ve just been noticing as I get older that I wear down my teeth. My general dentist says that I brux, which means I grind my teeth, and my teeth are just getting shorter and older and yellower. I’m at this point where I want to learn about my cosmetic options. And really my general dentist is telling me that if I don’t do something, there’s things about my teeth and the way they’re wearing that’s exposing the dentine, and it’s going to be, you know, as I age, it’s a lifetime concern. And he said that I’d need both functional dentistry, and I’m interested in cosmetics. So you were recommended to me.
DR. SHELDON SEIDMAN: Okay. So aesthetics are your concern. Let me see that again. I think we can help you.
